The Bulb - Enlightenment! Insights worth writing for!

Yesterday, I had a chance to listen to the Premier Thought Leaders - Randell Tiongson (Non Non-Sense Personal Finance), Paolo Tigib (Entrep Champ), Yeng Remulla (Productive Pinoy), Jayson Lo (YOUnique), Marvin Germo (Stock Smarts)and Pastor Dennis Sy (Rich for Life) at Victory Greenhills. Here are the main things I learned from each speaker.
1. Start Something (Yeng Remulla) Sir yeng, is one of the speakers who has an impact on me. He said that some of us may be wanting a book to be written or published, some may want to become public speakers or some would like to have their own business. All he mentioned are the things I really want to have in my life - just like the others - and he said that nothing can be done unless we start something. In my heart, I would love to have my own book published as well. I don't know how but I know that the Good Lord will just put in everything in his power if I am meant to become an author someday :) It's important to start something instead of nothing at all. and because of that, I gave a birth to a new blog called Pera Pera Lang Pinoy where I will be posting / compiling insights about money and investments. So I guess, itong blog na ito, is a good start! :)
2. Retire Comfortably (Randell Tiongson) I am really delighted to see the talk show host of Money Talks at Energy Fm - Sir Randell Tiongson. It was In fact, the radio talk show at 106.7 where I was given a pair of tickets for Premier Thought Leaders. I am really greatful! He said that in retirement, studies show that there will be more retirees in year 2035 and if these retirees will just depend on their children, these retirees will just become a burden to the society. Imagine, the cycle the Filipinos are going through. The children who support their parents are also growing and taking care of their own families. While in between, these children-bread-winners don't notice that they are not saving up for themselves for retirement. Thus, by the time they retire, it's their time to depend on their children too and so becomes a cycle. Now this cycle has to stop. Gusto ba natin na pagdating ng panahon, aasa din tayo sa mga anak na natin? We are robbing them of their freedom!
3. Entrepreneurship (Paolo Tigib) I admire sir Paolo on his views about business. He said that in business, there are two main things to consider. FEEL (pulso, intuition, pag-aralan) and FILL (punuin, fill in the gap). Although, we were not given the chance to listen to these speakers more than 45 minutes each because of the interest of time, we got so many insights from them. He also share examples of Entrepreneur champs such as Mang Inasal, The Generic Pharmacy and many others who are able to break away from the same industry they are in. Also, he said that a business regardless of the size must have a business plan. Formal or informal will do.
4. Stock Market is for everyone (Marvin Germo) Sir Marvin germo, made stock investing easy for those who have yet no idea of what the stock market is. I appreciate how he inspires and at the same time educate the audience. I even feel more confident as a financial consultant that I am on the right track. :) educating the His insights about investing allows me to share with others that the stock market is not only for the rich but everyone! The stock market is very much accessible.
5. Younique (Jayson Lo) Sir Jayson Lo was able to uncover our personalities. I learned the reasons why and how I deal with myself and with others. The D-I-S-C (Dominant, Influencer, Steady and Corrective) personalities are really awesome that we had fun in learning in which category we fall into. Our strengths and weaknesses are also highlighted during his talk. He is able to motivate us too on how to reach greater heights by showing us some of his friends who are able to become achievers by identifying their strengths and weaknesses. I agree that sir Jayon Lo - as what his co-speakers said - is a motivator!
6. Rich for Life (Pastor Dennis Sy) The main thing I learned from Pastor Dennis Sy is the act of Giving. I never realized that it is in giving that God fills in what we are lacking of. We just have to make a decision of becoming a Giver and we should not fear that we give so much because again, God will fill in the gap for us hundredfold. He said that we need to BE rich and not to GET rich and that's what God wants us to be also. He shared to us that his family has several funds allocated for different accounts such as Giving fund, Vacation Fund, Car Fund etc.
I agree that these authors will be the next best selling authors. They are now my favorites! :)

Life. As we know it.

Life. As we know it. There are times in our lives that we are really bound to make mistakes and we ask ourselves why it has to be our choice. Today, I realized in my 30 years of existence, there is one thing I hope I have never chosen. I am turning 30 on Wednesday and looking back I am ashamed of what I have done with some parts of my life so far. I just feel that I have failed God. :( However, I realize that we are lucky enough to have a merciful and loving God. It pushed me to write once again, because It's difficult to express things now to somebody. To whoever I will share this feelings, it may be difficult for him to contain the things I am going to tell. I have suffered so much, but it made me a stronger woman. I can now say that it's really a matter of holding on or really to let go. Just like what the movie LIFE OF PI imparted to the viewers that the essence of life is the art of letting go. It's been almost 5 years now and I am really thinking if this is what I still want... My fear is not I won't be able to move forward, my fear is that I may lose that feeling forever and just let go at the moment everyone least expected. And oh, one more thing, I may not have a tear drop anymore. Just like now, I can't feel the tears coming out of my eyes and all I feel is a silent prayer from my heart pounding so hard asking God to help me contain everything today. Life as we know it. Up until when will I hold on? I surrender everything to God from now on. So be it. Dear God, I still thank you for making me who I am today. I am so much thankful for giving me such a wonderful family. My parents, my brother, my cousins and new friends from work who are willing to listen to me despite everything. Thank you God for everything. I love you. Life as we know it. "For I know the plans I have for you, plans to bring your prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for" - Jeremiah 29:11
